The strategy we use to expand the resources available to social change organizations is workplace fundraising campaigns. By working as a group, individual member organizations allow for workers to be introduced to the actions and achievements of member organizations. Workers can then make a personal choice regarding where they would like to direct their charitable contribution. Each worker can choose to pledge $1.00, $5.00, or whatever they like from each pay period. The funds are automatically deducted from their paycheck and forwarded to the Progressive Way for distribution to the nonprofit organization of their choosing.
TPW assesses a 9.5% administrative fee on each donation.
Each time TPW has joined a workplace campaign, the community experienced an increase in giving. Providing workers greater choice always translates into more workers choosing to give. Our efforts result in more than $150,000 each year being directed to progressive nonprofits in our communities.
And that total is growing each year.
In these times of shrinking resources, TPW has seen a steady, annual expansion of dollars contributed to our member organizations. Employees throughout the Bay Area are demonstrating their desire to support positive social change in their communities.
